ESM Student Commissions
Each year, OSSIA commissions two to three students from the Eastman School of Music to compose new works that are premiered on our mainstage concerts.
To be eligible for selection, applicants must be returning or incoming students to the Eastman School of Music.

Repertoire
We want to perform the music that you want to hear. That’s why all of the pieces we select for our concerts come directly from you.
The only parameter that needs to be met: the rep submitted is contemporary — we are not bound to any style or genre!

External Commissions
Is there a composer from outside of Eastman that you should like OSSIA to commission? The OSSIA Board reviews proposals at the conclusion of each season and commission projects are initiated for the following year.

International Call for Works
OSSIA is excited to announce that our International Call for Works is now open! Selected work will be premiered this season with full support from OSSIA. Apply through the link below for an opportunity for your piece to be featured. The application deadline is January 1st, 2025.
