Zach Griffin

Director of Public Relations

Zach Griffin is a conductor and performer based in Rochester, New York. He is currently in the second year of his master’s degree at the Eastman School of Music where he studies conducting with Mark Davis Scatterday and is the Frederick Fennell Graduate Conducting Fellow. At Eastman, Zach is the assistant conductor of the Eastman Wind Orchestra and Eastman Wind Ensemble and serves as a teaching assistant for Basic Conducting class. He has also has appeared as a guest conductor with OSSIA New Music and currently serves on the board of OSSIA as the Director of Public Relations. 

Demonstrating a passion and love of education, Zach previously taught band, chorus, and general music outside of Atlanta, Georgia. With a wide range of musical interests, he has been a conductor, performer, and clinician for bands and choirs in a variety of settings. He holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia where he studied trumpet with Philip Smith and Brandon Craswell and conducting with Jaclyn Hartenberger.
