Through creative programming and novel collaborations, Uday Singh works to share new artistic experiences with new audiences. Uday’s wide range of work in performance, education, and administration reflects his commitment to the promotion of the music of our time.
Uday has completed numerous artistic projects in diverse venues across the world. In Switzerland, Uday’s recent solo project, “In Transit”, utilized such tools as staging, lighting, and non-classical idioms to discuss both physical and temporal journeys in an organic, approachable manner. Uday also served as the Associate Creative Producer for “Heard” by Alarm Will Sound, which received high acclaim after its Carnegie Hall debut for how delicately it wove together deeply personal narratives into one complete story. As an educator, Uday served as the director of the Rochester New Horizons Saxophone Ensemble, featuring saxophonists with ages ranging from 65-87. Uday also teaches private lessons to younger students as a teaching intern at the Eastman Community Music School. Uday is currently the Assistant Director of the Eastman Saxophone Project, now in its 14th season as a Rochester area institution. As an administrator, Uday serves on the Editorial Board and the Development Committee of the North American Saxophone Alliance. Additionally he also holds the Program Coordinator position with the new music chamber orchestra, Alarm Will Sound.

In 2022, Uday completed a Fulbright grant at the Zürich University for the Arts in Switzerland where he studied the success of the contemporary saxophone amongst Swiss and European audiences. Currently Uday is working towards a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Eastman in Rochester, New York.
